PALM OILS

Palm oil is the most widely used vegetable oil, found in about 60% of packaged supermarket products. Extracted from the fruit of the oil palm tree (Elaeis Guineensis), it enhances the texture of foods like cookies and margarine.

Grown in tropical regions near the equator, palm oil is primarily produced in Indonesia and Malaysia, supplying 85% of global demand. It is also cultivated in South America, Thailand, and Africa.

Palm oil is highly efficient, yielding more oil per hectare than other crops. It supports millions of farmers and contributes to global food security and economic development.

Unsustainable palm oil production can lead to deforestation, habitat destruction, and labor issues. However, sustainable palm oil, certified by the RSPO, minimizes environmental impact while maintaining productivity.

Sustainably produced palm oil requires less land while delivering high yields, making it the best alternative to conventional palm oil. RSPO-certified palm oil ensures responsible production and trade, balancing efficiency with environmental and social responsibility.
